A few little ways
to play.
Start with the printable. See where their imagination takes it.
Ask what the picture can tell you
Look at an illustration together. Which features help you compare the characters? Which details belong to the story? Let questions lead the conversation.
Turn counts into a conversation
Use the two invented microscope fields to count and chart what you see. Talk about what those particular drawings show, and what a picture cannot tell you about a real microbe.
Open a pocket museum
Complete the four panels on page 20, cut the outside edge and fold along the dotted lines. Let your child guide someone through the little museum using their own words.
Easy on your printer. Ready for their crayons.
Use the PDF that matches your paper, print in portrait, and check the preview before you start. Choose “Fit to printable area” if your printer clips the edges. Read our printing guide.
This theme has separate packs for ages 2–4, 4–6 and 6–9. Choose the pages that suit your child. Find a comfortable level.

Are the smiling microbe characters scientifically literal?
No. Their faces, personalities and neighborhood are imaginary. The activities use illustrations and models to explore selected ideas; the guide explains their limits.
Do we need a microscope or living samples?
No. You need the printed pack, a pencil, crayons and child-safe scissors. The microscope fields, experiment results and sample key are invented practice data. There is no collecting, swabbing, culturing or food tasting; a grown-up helps with reading and cutting.
Can the tiny neighborhood feature my child?
You can start a separate personalized coloring storybook in the studio, starring your child and their chosen people in an imaginary tiny world. The science worksheets in this free bundle remain ready-made.
